International Conference in Spain

KBIP participated in a three day summer institute in Mallorca, Spain. This event was a professional development opportunity for over 30 teachers, teacher educators and researchers.  As a follow-up to their participation in the KBIP in the previous school year, 45 primary and secondary students from Quebec and Hong Kong also attended the institute. These learners participated in order to investigate the issue of the sustainability of the caves in Mallorca (e.g. tourism effect, cave ecology, installing light in the caves and its impact). The children explored the caves, conducted experiments and pursued their research. Meanwhile, the teachers, teacher educators and researchers analyzed and reflected on the students' work.
