Consultation with local experts
In
some
cases,
in order to
establish the
authenticity of
research questions
, local experts
from the
community
make
presentations
to students
using
relevant
data
.
For
example
,
a
school
in
Quebec
was interested in studying
the
effects
of
humans
on
a
local river
and its
watershed
.
The
director
of
a local
nonprofit organization
, the
Council
of the
St.
Charles River Watershed
,
made a presentation to the students highlighting several issues and invited the learners to
partner with him in investigating the problem further.
