Knowledge Forum

The Knowledge Forum is the online collaborative software used for Knowledge Building.

This is the home page for the 2011 KBIP Knowledge Forum database:

Click here to access the database (password protected).

The software allows classes to record their discussions in a forum called a perspective. Each participant is able to contribute a note to the forum. Students are supported in their writing by scaffolds.

Teachers are able to analyse students' participation in the forum according to number of contributions, usage of key words, number of connections to other notes etc.

Files can be shared in the forum including documents, pictures and movies.

Knowledge Forum is in ongoing development with the University of Toronto and Carnegie Mellon University.
